Facilities

At the Center for Isotope Geochemistry at Boston College, we have a number of facilities that allow us to produce high-quality isotope and geochemical data. These include:

  • A mineral separation suite including traditional methods as well as a micro-drill for sub-sampling of mineral grains.
  • A suite of state-of-the-art ultra-clean labs for chemical dissolution and column chromatography.
  • The instrument room which houses the TIMS and IRMS for high-precision analysis of both radiogenic and stable isotopes.

We also collaborate closely with Prof. Seth Kruckenberg in the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences, who is the Director of the SEM lab.
